Default Warming up for a snatch workout

    Hi,

I'm learning the split snatch right now. I find it easier than the cleans due to my long forearm & poor flexibility.

How would you set up a snatch workout for a novice or intermediate, in particular how would you structure the ramp up during the warmup?

    Thanks,

    Joss

I'm just starting, and I'm not very strong to start with (84kg sq, 125kg dl). On Wednesday I did 42kg for a half dozen singles, and I warmed to it by doing 3-5 1-rep sets with an empty bar, then 3-5 @ 30kg, then 3-5 every 2kg. I'm a 41 yr old male.

I think that snatches are a bit premature, but we typically warm up snatches with singles across.
