Thread: When to do dips

    Default When to do dips

    • starting strength seminar december 2024
    • starting strength seminar february 2025
    • starting strength seminar april 2025
    I'm on a basic SS program:
    Squat/Bench/Deadlift
    then
    Squat/Press/Powerclean

    I'm having some trouble with the Press, and my guess would be the dips should come after that workout so as to leave the most time to recover for the next press workout. Is that right?

    That is fine...add chins on your bench day and you should be good to go.

    I do the same program as you except I do dips after the deadlift and chins after the power clean.

    The dead is tough on the biceps, and everything else, making chins very difficult. The press and dips overlap quite a bit, meaning I would not be fully recovered for dips even after the cleans.

    I think my way has some sense to it, though I may be incorrect.
