I'm 60 and since the beginning of the year I've been using the four day heavy light program with the first five months getting excellent results. The last couple of months I've either stalled a bit or even regressed. One question I have is for light day programing and in particular bar speed. I've noticed as my weights have gone up even my light days at anywhere from 92%-95% of my heavy five day rep my bar speed has started to slow way down such that even light days can feel heavy especially the last few reps of the three light sets.
Should bar speed be dropping like that on a light day should I perhaps be looking at dropping light day to 85%-90%?
