As if further proof of the devolution of the Olympics was needed, they managed to find a way.

The definite end for me was the year I turned it on to be greeted by choreographed water dance team competition.

I agree with everything written. And I do confess to watching the Olympics, more than the track and field world championships.

One non-olympic NBC Sports observation... When NBC shows the Ironman world championship (I know, I know), it is a 2 hour show. First 60 minutes focuses 80% on the pros, 20% human interest (some are in fact very good). Last hour is 10% pros, 90% human interest. The observation... NBC NEVER shows the finishing time clock. Ever. I don't know why.

But if I watch the 78yo woman's story about overcoming XYZ event in her life and finish an Ironman, I want to know she did it in 15h28m. I want to celebrate that incredible accomplishment.

It is weird, and related to your article. And it is a shame.

I just hope they don't add BJJ to the list. The Olympics ruins everything it touches it seems like.

Sounds like Disney. They haven't bought the Olympics have they?

If NBC owns Disney, they have, because NBC owns the Olympics.

Disney owns ABC/ESPN. They are more interested in poker tournaments and cornhole championships.

Let’s see how truly ‘woke’ these athletes are when transgenders start smashing female world records to pieces.

It's almost as if there is an effort to make the Olympics completely irrelevant.
