    Default Squat form check

    • starting strength seminar august 2024
    • starting strength seminar october 2024
    • starting strength seminar december 2024
    After a fairly lengthy break I'm back on starting strength. After feeling that I'd completely forgotten how to squat I reset to 60kg and worked on form for a week. Am up to 75kg now and figures Id best get a form check.

    Here's my 3rd set of 5 and 75kg from Friday's workout. Feedback very welcome!

    Your stance is too wide and I fear for your back. Your first move is to overextend the hell out of it at the start. Narrow your stance. Stop arching your back to start the squat. Just lean over and sit down without flexing or extending the spine. Don't go quite so deep. Get yourself a pair of lifting shoes.

    Will work on all of the above and post another vid in a few weeks. In the process of looking for a pair of lifting shoes right now.
