    Default Deadlift grip and chaffing

When deadlifting, I use the grip suggested in the SS book and have never had a problem with calluses or tearing them. However, the last month or so I've had a problem with chaffing on my fingers from palmar digital crease to fingertip. I use an old Capps Texas Power Bar at the gym, so the knurl is somewhat aggressive. I use chalk and warmup as normal, but by my working weight sets (for TM, I do 2x3 or 3x2) my fingers feel rug burned and I can hardly close my hands around the bar, which really messes up the pull. Is there any strategy to either avoid this or to alleviate the feeling? Didn't see an answer when searching so thought I would ask.

Get a less-aggressive bar? That knurl is fine for a meet, but if it keeps your hands fucked up, you can't train.
