There seems to be a huge market in the DC area for fitness, as represented by the sea of CrossFit gyms, yoga, barre, and other boutique structured fitness studios. But there is a dearth of strength training facilities. I only know of Five Rings Fitness in Falls Church, Supreme Sports Performance in Rockville, and Breakaway Sport in McLean. I had the privilege of training today at Westminster S&C and wished we had a facility with the coaching and atmosphere that Beau's gym offers without the 3-hour round-trip commute.
Thanks to Beau for the nutrition seminar today, and to Eric Shugars for the coaching during barbell training.
We get many travelers from the DC area up at the gym on weekends. It's always funny to watch the look on their faces when they see 14 plus squat racks filled, prowlers flying back and forth, old people squatting, girls moving more weight than most guys, and so many LBBS happening. Usually before this they have been the odd ball in their gym in the squat rack squatting unlike everyone else.
The problem is not opening a large SS gym in the Northern Virginia/DC area. The problem is staffing it with SS coaches. I'm doing my part in helping to increase the numbers but I still don't have enough. So, Vincent....eat like I told you and maybe you can help us out.
At FiveX3 Training we coach a lot of clients from the DC area, particularly on the weekends. We would be happy to work with you if you want to make the short drive up to Baltimore.
Thanks Mark for the shoutout.

I follow this gym on Instagram. I drool at that place. It is everything a gym - a strength gym - should be. Screw DC. We need this in Boston!
I second the shoutout, but with less of a Texas drawl. Fivex3 is worth a trip for training, and might be closer, depending on where you live. Emily is a great coach. I'm in Annapolis and would love a "hub" next door to my house, but it won't happen unless I build it myself and get the cert.

We are also trying to do our part. I agree with Beau. We could easily open up a gym between Beau, Angie, Diego and I.....but who will staff it? One day....one day.
anyone going to open up a gym like Westminster in Charlotte?
