In the Starting Strength Wiki, I found a quote attributed to you:
Reading the CrossFit website, it agrees with you that LSD is destructive and better, quicker results can be achieved with faster, shorter running. For example, see here and here. The only time LSD (long slow distance) is necessary is if your going to compete in a sport that requires it. It is far inferior to CrossFit-type metcon for producing an increase in VO2 max, it interferes with power and strength production, it can be quite catabolic and immune-suppressive in high doses, it destroys muscle mass, and the people that do it usually wear silly clothes. Read the stuff on the CrossFit website regarding this, and you will learn many good, important things.
However, I'm not able to find information about the method of training found in the article, or any non-standard training method for distance running. All I know of is the standard model my coach and many others use, which is running many miles every day with speedwork once or twice a week.
Could you point me in the right direction in training for cross country, and how to integrate this into your M/W/F strength program? If it matters, I am not a new runner and can already complete a 5K (and of course some longer distances).
