    Got Power?

There is quite literally not one correct statement in this entire piece. To be more explosive, you just have to explode more. The ONLY reason I posted it was to show you what our coaches have to deal with when new clients walk in the gym, having been "informed."

Any of you that currently hold this organization's certification should reconsider.

"Power is the ability to efficiently decelerate and then transfer this energy to rapidly accelerate in the desired direction."

That's an interesting and totally inaccurate definition of power.

I suppose Klokov must not be very powerful, because he can only accelerate 300kg into the air for his clean. He can't decelerate it and then accelerate, excuse me, RAPIDLY accelerate it into the air.
I didn't realize jerk was an important aspect of power generation. I thought it only mattered when designing cams for mechanical systems.

first line of article, no shit :

Training for power has been underrepresented, or at least misrepresented, . . .

    . . . (later) . . .

Power is the ability to efficiently decelerate and then transfer this energy to rapidly accelerate in the desired direction

The best part, of course, is that the road to power begins with mobility.

Remember...Dr. Been may or may not have said it best when he showed, both decisively and indecisively in a recent lecture that Mobility--> Stability* --> Ability.

*this must be the "strength endurance" described in this tour de force from the NASM

Well, they do include four sets of five heavy squats.

The instructions are wrong, but it's a start.

I thought power was defined as Force X Velocity or Work per unit time
