    Default need SS routine critique

    • starting strength seminar october 2024
    • starting strength seminar december 2024
    • starting strength seminar february 2025
    So tell me what you guys think of this routine. I added some assistance exercises. Chinups are a constant because I'm getting stuck and I alternate shrugs and weighted dips. The dips were added to help my weak bench.

    workout A
    squats
    press
    powerclean
    chinups
    shrugs

    workout b
    squats
    bench
    deadlift
    chinups
    dips

    SS is not a routine, it is a program. YNDTP.

    Looks good, except get rid of the shrugs and dips.

    Your bench press will come along fine, with patience and proper attention to recovery.

    Always remember that you don't get stronger from exercise, you get stronger from recovering from the exercise.

    Adding extra work will inhibit recovery.

    Lose the chinups, dips and shrugs. With SS you progress better with less work, not more.
