A few years ago I had surgery on my left should to repair a 60% tear of my labrum. After 8 weeks in an sling I went through PT and have not had any issues except when doing my squats. One of the side affects after the surgery is a slight reduction in my exterior rotation, which makes it difficult for me to get under the barbell to squat. So far it has been discomfort but not pain after performing the squat and the left shoulder feels much tighter than my right when in the squat position under the barbell.

Does anyone have any experience with what might help with this?

    Thanks!

You can start by trying the Horn squat stretch. If you can get into the low bar position now it that is a good sign that things will start feeling better after a few more weeks of training.
