Lost in advanced programming
I really have no idea what to do right now lol. When I'm not in meet prep and being actively coached, I have no idea how to train in the off season. I found a single off season powerlifting program within Practical Programming... should I just follow that? It seems every other program surrounding powerlifting is a taper, and I would like to use my time between meets to gain good weight and avoid maxing out.

Actually......I would avoid maxing out maybe on the main competitive lifts too often, BUT if you have several months of "dead time" during your year (i.e. no meets planned, etc) then a Westside type of routine is a good idea.
For meet specific training, I'm not a fan, but otherwise its not a bad idea.
It gives you time to fuck around in the gym, but still be productive. How familiar are you?
