First question I have, is is there a Starting Strength Logbook Calculator in KG? Or is it just a case of changing the 'lb increase' to the kg equivalent and putting everything in kg?

Secondly, I haven't been to the gym for about 18 months. I have gone a few times in last 10 days to get back into it, before starting the novice program next week.

Anyway I have been surprised how hard the lifts have been after so long out...they have all literally dropped by 50% (!!) to make them a 'comfortable' 5 rep. Does this seem too much? I don't want to go too high straight away and fail...but also don't want to go too low!

Start low. From what I've heard, your gains should be faster than the normal person's since you have some history of working out. As far as the logbook calculator in kg, don't bother converting. Just do a linear progression in kg instead of lbs. What increments do you have plates in wherever you are?
