    In the first one I jump forward. I think the second and third are pretty good. The fourth and fifth are ugly...I was tired.

    Yeah, don't do sets of 5 for this reason. The pull from the floor is good, you're just reluctant to slam your elbows up and rack the bar like a weightlifter. Look at some clean and jerks and watch how fast the elbows rotate, and then make yours look like that.

    I was a little confused about this. On pg 292 of BBT, the example shows power cleans using a 5x3, but in the programming section on pg 301, it shows power cleans using 3x5. It is hard for me to do 5 reps after my other lifts so I guess I'll start doing a 3x5 with the cleans?

    Mark,

    So, the power clean is supposed to be 5 sets of 3? I've often done this when attempting a new weight but wasn't sure if it was ok.

    Yes, triples for cleans. Page 292 is an error, thanks for pointing it out.
