Ok, like my fellow lifters Taradise and TinyDancer, TBone has also convinced me to start a log of my trials and tribulations of olympic weightlifting. My background is in gymnastics and soccer, I've been a very active person all my life (21 years old) and just recently got interested in oly lifts last year. I completed one meet but with earning my degree and other personal issues I took 7 months off- didn't even touch a barbell until 2 weeks ago. Now I'm back and it feels even more awesome than before. I last competed at 63kg and I weigh a tad above that now. Ideally, I'd like to be a 58kg lifter so I've started the Paleo diet. So I'll begin this log with my last heavy training session on 7/19

    Morning:
    just cleans (kg)-
    30x3
    35x3
    39x2
    40x2
    42x2
    44x2
    45x4
    47x2
    49x2 (miss)

    Back Squat (highbar) kg-
    50x5
    55x5
    60x5
    65x2
    70x2
    25x2
    77x1
    80x1

    Evening
    just cleans
    35x3
    39x2
    40x2
    44x1
    45x1
    46x1
    47x1
    48x1
    49x1
    50x1
    51x1
    52x1 PR
    53x1 miss

    Back squat
    60x5
    65x3
    67x3
    70x3
    72x5

my old clean PR was 50kg, however, I can do close to 60 from the hang and I can also jerk 60. I just have issues cleaning from the floor. My first pull is slow, sometimes I don't get my knees out of the way in time and I tend to jump forward when it gets heavy. It just needs more work in general.

I absolutely love the name of this log. We need to get shirts with our gym names on the back like jerseys.

    I'm so excited.

    And, yes, we need jerseys.

    7/23

What a fucking awesome morning! I think most of the credit goes to the fact that I ate a shit ton of carbs last night (not really intentional) then had a good breakfast this morning and tried a combination of supplements I've been interested in. So with my breakfast I took omega-3 fish oil capsule and a probiotic, like I do every morning, and then I just bought some L-tyrosine, glutamine and arginine. This is the second time I have taken them and it went really well the first time so I tried it again and I felt so energized this morning! Oh I also took this along with my pre-workout supplement Jack3d I'm normally an afternoon/evening training person but I was on it today. I hit a snatch PR at 47kg and came close to 48kg and then a jerk PR from blocks at 60kg, both these PR have been eluding me for quite sometime now. I am totally going to snatch 50kg soon I can feeeel ittt!

So it goes a little something like this:

    Snatch kg
    30x2
    35x2
    37x2
    39x2
    40x1 miss from behind
    40x1
    42x1
    43x1
    44x1
    45x1
    46x1 PR
    47x3 miss
    47x1 PR
    48x2 miss

    Jerk from the blocks kg
    35x2
    39x2
    40x1
    44x1
    47x2
    49x1
    50x1
    52x1
    54x1
    55x1 press out
    55x1
    57x1
    59x1
    60x2 miss
    60x1 PR

Later on this evening I'll head back to the gym and do some light cardio work and front squat. I'm still at 147lbs body weight so going to keep trying to stay Paleo till I hit my goal weight.

    7/23

    Afternoon training
I needed to do front squats since I didn't do them in the morning so I head out to the ol' WWC gym to get that and a little bit of light conditioning in.

    FS kg
    50x5
    55x5
    57x3
    60x3
    63x3
    66x3
    68x3
    70x1

I meant to get on a bike or some other cardio-like equipment but I hardly can motivate myself to do that- it's just so boring to me!
    I did however do:
    steps ups 3x10 @ 25# db
kb swings 3x15 @ 25, 30, 35#- these were all done relatively fast so that could count as cardio right?
    kb seated should presses 3x10 @ 15, 20, 20#
I'm almost ashamed to admit this but I did do some bicep curls haha for the ladies of course...
anddd I benched- I hardly ever bench but it's something I would like to improve on, especially if I ever want to do a powerlifting meet which I would like to at some point. I think I started at 50lbx15, 65lbx10, and 75lbx10
