Daytona Beach area SS lifters?
I'm a longtime lurker, recently registered. First off, thanks Rip, wish I got into this in high school!
Is there anyone on here that lives in the Daytona Beach area? I live in Port Orange, I'm in the market for a new gym, and would like suggestions. My current "gym" just posted a sign that says something along the lines of "The use of chalk is strictly prohibited, sorry for the inconvenience." They may be targeting me, because I've never seen anyone else bring chalk, but I didn't notice the sign today until I was almost finished. Funny story: None of their staff members had the balls to approach me and point it out.
The chalk thing's the last straw, but previously they eliminated their Troy plates in favor of their other smaller-diameter plates, so i have to lie plates on the floor to get the bar height up. I left my number and offered to buy some while they were still sitting in a back room, and no one ever called. Then all their 2.5lb plates disappeared, and none of the staff seemed to give a shit when I asked about them...so I started bringing my own. Why have I put up with all this? Membership is dirt cheap, less than $100/yr. But I'm through, I've got no workaround for "no chalk." So this is a cry for help...any local SSers that can point me toward a gym that doesn't try to eliminate people who are serious about getting stronger?

Sorry. I'm nowhere near you and can't recommend any gyms. But I couldn't leave you hangin' without a response.
Sucks about your gym. Sounds like a bunch of fags.
Good luck.
