Clif's Novice LP
Context: In the middle of Novice LP, about to add a light day on squats, still DL/PC alternating. Recently attended a SS seminar, very good experience, go if you can.
I am 38, 6', 290ish, 26% bodyfat.
Diet: I had been walking the line and dropping some lard, but have decided to worry about that after Novice lp is finished up.
Lifts from Monday 29 June + Press from 26 June
SQ 320 x 5 x 3 (actually a misload by 10#)
B 235 x 5 x 3
Pr 170 x 5 x 3 (from Friday workout)
DL 365 x 5 (form broke way down at the end, bar literally flying away from me, will repeat). I need to fix this, now. Never really happened much before.

Weds - Light Squat Day
Squat 255x5x2
Press 175x5x3
DL 365x5 (these were much better than Monday)
Got out of the garage gym and went to Iron City Gym on 290/Barker Cypress. The bodybuilder posing in his drawers kinda weirded me out a bit, but they do have some folks there serious about getting strong. Bit disappointed in the equipment, one squat rack, one power rock, one deadlift platform...3 benches. Decent bars, tho.

Friday 3 July
Friday's workout:
Squat 325x5x3 - didnt really try very much till last set. Stance improving, bit more feet out, holding foot angle ~30 degs, hamstrings tightened up nicely.
Bench 240x5x3 - need to focus on stretch reflex @ bottom
Power Clean 150x3x5 - need to focus on whipping my elbows up around the bar. Pulls are good, much horsepower left in the tank, but i beat my elbows / shoulders up on the rack.
All in all, great work out. Went ahead and joined the gym.
Monday 6 July Workout
Squat 330x5x3
Press 182.5x5, 4, 180x5x
DL 375x5
Yes, press was just as goobered up as it looks. Shoulders seem fine, triceps more stressed than usual.
Diet - have a hard time getting enough calories; therefore milk consumption is rising.
Sleep - the downward spiral for te week has begun
Work - continuing to get rained on...

A long delayed update...Signed up for SSOC. It's worth it. Karl Schudt fixed my badly mangled squat form pretty quickly. Still some tweaks left, but the hip twitch I was doing that was crippling me is gone.
