I know it would be a lot of work, not to mention a PITA, but since Rip recently mentioned in passing that he was working on a SS for Geezers book, I've been thinking about how much I'd like to see his standard Kilgore/Rippetoe standards updated with a section for the over-70 crowd. There might not be many, but some of us (me, for instance) will be joining that demographic in the not too distant future.

OTOH, it may be too much work for too few people. ROI and all that.

A suggestion here Bill. Take a look at the USPA Men's Classification Chart for powerlifting. https://www.google.com/url?q=http%3A...-o8T5td3aQlksA

The Raw section is for unequipped lifters and covers age ranges higher than 60 for the 3 lifts. That may provide some mile markers.

Thanks, Mark. I'm trying to puzzle out the meanings of the various classes at the moment. I figured out the bodyweight stuff, now I'm trying to figure out the difference between, say, Elite, (the top) and Class IV (the bottom, apparently).

I have a better idea: you can be the one to set the standards.

You've got the hierarchy correct, Class IV is the low end and Elite is the top. My own observation is that Class I was a little higher than Kilgore's standard for Elite.

Off the top of my head, Elite Kilgore: 920 total. Class I USPA: 964 total. Be guided accordingly.
