1. There is no manufacturer. The plans are here: http://startingstrength.com/files/po...n_rippetoe.pdf Have them made by a fab welder.
2. Omit the power clean and just deadlift. If you can't rack the bar, you can't use the exercise.
Greetings Mark.... I have all of your books and I am a big fan of your no bullshit style writing, along with Bill starr , paul kelso and Ken Leistner who tell it like it is instead of telling people what they want to hear , in short I have two questions
1. who is the manufacturer of the power racks in your videos
2. Im 47 years young and wish to develop strength and add muscle mass...Due to shoulder surgeries , i cannot get shoulders far back enough to back squat , so i will just front squat BUT
I had torn elbow tendon surgeryin the past that even when using straps power cleans are very painful. also limits grip strength
what alternatives as far as exercises to replace power clean in program
Thanks in Advance Dan Gallagher

They are hard to do correctly, even for an experienced lifter.
how are you holding the bar for a front squat if you can't rack a clean?
also mark, what do you think about a cambered bar if he had access to one?
An excellent question. I read them too fast sometimes.how are you holding the bar for a front squat if you can't rack a clean?
California style, perhaps.
Need another book, or chapter in the next version, on how to do starting strength if you're an old fart (master) who can't rack a clean due to some old injury or just general inflexibilty no matter how much we may try. Most of us can deadlift though.
