Just thought I'd share for the people who have trouble getting in enough calories especially in the morning.

I usually start with a shake consisting of:

    -1/2 cup oatmeal
    -4 tbsp peanut butter
    -1.5 cups milk
-1 scoop whey (I like chocolate best with peanut butter)
    -banana
    ~1000 Calories

Just blend it up and drink. It's been very convenient for me and I think it also tastes pretty good.

I made a few assumptions about the original poster's food choices and used CalorieKing for the raw data.

It's gonna be roughly 54 g of protein.

    16 g in the peanutbutter
    5 g in the oatmeal
    12 g in the milk
20 g in the whey (depends on the scoop and mix)
    1 g in the banana

I was drinking shakes that were almost the same recipe except: oat flour instead of oatmeal, honey instead of banana. You can adjust the oats/PB/whey to get whatever macronutrient ratio you want, but a typical scoop of whey will net you about 25g of protein, 4 tbsp of PB will add another 16g, and the milk will get you 12g which puts you just over 50g for a single shake.

That is literally the same thing I make every day. Good choice. The whey I use is 24g per scoop + 12g for milk + 14g peanut butter + whatever is in oatmeal. It isn't great but not terrible either, considering it can be made and consumed in a matter of minutes.

Add some olive oil and you got yourself one helluva shake.

Needs more carbs. You've got a nice batch of fats and protein, just pump up the milk to 4 cups and add a glass of OJ on the side.
