As the title says, I'm curious how long it took everyone to get to Category IV in the strength standards. Please include sex\age in the response. Disclaimer: We all know this isn't supposed to matter.

    For me -

    40 years old male
15 months of SS & beyond. (few months of gym bs prior to that)
Press - CAT 4 (bottom of it)
Bench - CAT 3 (2/3 of the way to CAT 4)
Squat - CAT 3 (1/3 of the way to CAT 4)
    DL - CAT 3 (20lb from bottom)
PC - don't do it....can't rack due to flexiblityCAt

Here is a link to the tables for reference.

For male, 275lbs, Category IV standards are:
    Press: 194
    Bench: 325
    Squat: 435
    Deadlift: 499
    Power clean: 313

I began training in 2010, and more seriously in 2011. I met these numbers in:
    Press: Fall 2012 (?), <24 months
Bench: Spring 2015, ~4 years. This was due to not training the bench for a few months in here
Squat: Christmastime 2011 (this was a great year - I went from a very shaky 355 max in March 2011 to a solid 445 in December)
    Deadlift: Spring 2012. ~26 months
Powerclean: not yet met. I haven't cleaned anything in over a year.

I should also be careful to note that I program-hopped quite a bit in 2011-2013. Sticking with a single program could result in faster progress than I realized.

Female, training since 2011, now 34, body weight has been between 120-132 during my years training.
I got to category 4 in most lifts in 2-3 years, squat to cat 5.

    Male, 43, 210-219lb

Press - bottom end of cat III
Bench - mid cat III somewhere; changes wildly every time for better or worse
Squat - 10.5 months for cat IV
Deadlift - Sad panda. Gonna go eat ice cream now.

    edit:
SS began August 2015, switched to TM old man 4 day mid Janurary 2016

    Male, 47, 200, since jun 2009

I am not in cat IV in any lift. In some lifts, I am not even in cat III.

Hope that makes you feel good.

Started training Crossfit spring 2008. Switched to barbell stuff only early 2009. Hit CatIV for sq/p/dl September 2009 and have always remained above CatIV since then, but still have not achieved it for bench.

Male, 53, started training at 41, currently around 95kg, started at around 80kg.

Press, cat IV (79kg) in about 8 years, can't press overhead anymore because of shoulder issues,
Bench, cat IV (132kg) in about 7 years, can still do it.
Squat, cat IV (176kg) in about 4 years, can still do it on occasion.
Deadlift cat IV (208kg) in about 2 years, can still do it.
Power Clean cat III (94kg) in about 4 years, can still do it (still not IV)

I'm 38 and male. This thread reminds me how much I suck.

3 years training currently May 2013 to now, plus 8-9 years training from 1992-2000.

Squat - Cat IV - NOT YET (Cat IV via e1RM 2.33 Years)
Deadlift - Cat IV - NOT YET (Cat IV via e1RM 2.66 Years)
    Press - Cat IV @ 165 - 7 months; @ 181 11 months;
    Bench - Cat IV @ 165 - 8 months; @ 181 1.33 years;

I forgot about those standards. I will make it a point to SQ and DL those weights this year.
