    Default Persisting left thigh pain

I've been having this for the past 5 weeks and it won't go away. I followed the Starr protocol after asking you about it and wasting 2 weeks screwing around, and with ice, and daily squatting i thought i had finally gotten rid of it last week. I started moving back up in the weights squatting 3x5 at 112.5kg (previous PR was at 126kg) and i thought my leg would continue to improve, but it seems to have gotten worse again with pain/tightness in the same groin region and medial thigh with some lateral thigh tightness/pain arising near the greater trochanter of the femur as well. I didn't want to push it and today was reduced to squatting 50kg for 3x20 again. I have no idea what to do and whether or not it's the adductors involved and still injured or some ligament/fascia thing or what but i'm getting desperate and annoyed. Would you happen to have any experience with this type of thing or do i just need to buckle down and see a doctor about it? The problem is that the majority of the time they'll just say rest it until it doesn't hurt and possibly send you to some physio....

Have you had a terribly hard painful massage on the injury?

Well i just visited an accupuncturist who said it was due to a tightening of the muscles following injury and some imbalance thing (only got the general gist) and she of course applied some needles, some electrotherapy type stuff, and gave it a decent massage after. But other than some self applied massages as well, no i haven't had a terribly hard and painful massage there. Should i find myself a massage therapist?

Have you not read my previous 9,000,000 posts about this?

No i actually haven't but from back when i searched adductor/groin injuries most of what turned up was about applying the Starr rehab protocol. So i assume from your response that the answer is to get myself a dam vicious massage. Would a normal massage therapist cut it, or are there specific people you have in mind? Sorry for the dumb questions but believe it or not i've never had a proper massage before so please excuse my ignorance.

Why does my questions always end with you swearing? Food for thought. But seriously i have searched before posting and i see you recommending getting massages but i don't see you saying if there any qualifications necessary to do so. So that's why i asked whether you had a particular type in mind as there a lot of stuff out there with guys claiming to have this unique technique and blah, blah. Would just a run of the mill massage therapist work or should it be one that specialises in muscular injury or a particular method? That's just what i'm after.

the only thing you need is a masseuse who can make it hurt. Preferably a guy from iceland or somewhere
