    Rip:

In the book, you talk about the transition from a novice program to a more advanced novice program when the stress of pulling every day gets to be too much and it becomes necessary to break it up with assistance work.

My question is this - if a person is more efficient at pulling from the floor than they are at squatting, is it possible for them to get more burned out from squatting every day than pulling every day? If so, then does it ever make sense to squat less frequently (i.e., Monday/Friday) but to keep pulling daily (alternating PCs and DLs)?

    Just curious. Thanks.

Only if you believe that the squat is inherently more stressful than the deadlift. It's not. I think you don't know how to squat, or you're not deadlifting to you capacity.
