In between my power clean work sets I'm supposed to rest for ten minutes. It felt odd to sit down five times for ten minutes to do fifteen reps. It seems cut and dry how long I should rest in between my squats, presses, and deadlift movements. When it comes to the Power Clean and my chin ups I am uncertain how to appropriately find out for myself how long to rest. I've tried reading other forum posts but a lot of it seems like bad advice. The SS articles seem to point to resting for ten minutes but it is never explicitly said how long to rest for PC and chins. Neither do the blue or grey books. To be fair to all the authors and posters on this forum I may have overlooked what I am looking for.

I need help, can anyone forward me an SS article, SS post, or page number in the grey or blue book?

Try 3 minutes and see what happens.

For between PC sets I rest for 3 minutes, although I do 3 sets of 5 reps.

For chins I have to rest about 7 minutes, and even then, I’m never able to do more than 5 reps w/o stopping on the 2nd or 3rd set

Why are you doing sets of 5 cleans?

Because I am a moron, obviously. I posted previously asking if I should do 5 sets of 3 or 3 sets of 3 (to which you replied “your call”), and then I forgot the alternative was 3x3 instead of 3x5.

So that was rather silly of me. I’ll get back to doing 3x3 or 5x3. Thanks for pointing that out.
