Get the VS Athletics shoes. Good value for the money.

I'm in the same boat as you.

I bought Chuck Taylors from Zappos. They're cheap and came super fast! I ordered them Friday afternoon and they arrived today.

They do run large, so make sure you order a half size or maybe even a full size small.

No, he's not in the same boat as you. He's buying weightlifting shoes, and you bought Keds. Canvas and rubber moccasins. Glorified socks.

I guess I meant in the same boat financially.

I had read that the Chuck Taylors are popular with powerlifters and bought them because they're cheap (and probably better than the squishy basketball shoes I'm using now). I'm guessing by your reply that you don't like them?

In your article following you listed the Converse shoe as the most economical choice of Weightlifting Shoes:

I didnt think the Converse looked sturdy enough either or at least didnt have much heel so I ordered the PowerFirm shoes you also mentioned in the article.

Would you say the Converse could be classified as a weightlifting shoe just because of its solid sole ?

I just did my first workout in my new VS Athletics black suede shoes: $45. I ordered them directly from the VS Athletics website. They got here to MA in less than a week. They're heavy and feel very sturdy and well-made. Just don't go running on any slick bathroom floors at the gym. I almost busted my ass before my workout when I went to go take a piss. They have no traction whatsoever.

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but for most people, isn't squatting in something like Chucks better than weightlifting shoes? I ask because the thread title asks about squat shoes will the post itself asks about weightlifting shoes.

VS has a sale going now on a style they ordered wrong. It is ugly as hell, black suede with a white toe but the price is only $45.00. I got a pair for my son and me for the price of one regular not quite so ugly VS shoe. I may have to color in the toe with a sharpie though.

I'm actually looking to replace my chucks. They were better than my aasics with gel soles, but that ain't saying much.
