    Default Question leading to meet

Howdy, Andy! Let me know if this is better suited to a phone call, I'll gladly set up an appointment.

I've been trying for a meet coming up in 8 weeks (April 30/may 1st). Was looking to cut down. To 181 for the meet (at 190 now). Successfull lifts in the past 10 weeks:

    Squat: 465x1 rpe 9
    Bench: 310 tng
    Deadlift: 485x1

Due to work I had to take a week off from lifting last week. I was starting to feel beat up so I figured a deload would be nice. Came in last Friday and worked up to a comfortable weight for a single set across of 3 on squat Bench dead. Nothing crazy (405 squat, felt heavy. Bench 265. Deadlift 405)

Was going to do a DE volume day (10x2 65% squat and Bench, 60 percent dead 15x1 per PP) leading to meet, with the following intensity days for squat:

    435x3
    445x2
    455x1
    445x3
    455x2
    465x1
    Opener (not sure)
Dead load week - meet this weekend

Seemed reasonable. DE stuff Monday went fine. Diet all week was okay, not really much of a deficit. I came in today for an intensity day (the 435x3). 405 for a single was HARD. Failed 425 twice. About to Bench now.

Not quite sure how to proceed. The cut seems foolish to continue as much as I want to, because clearly I pestered out here. Programming wise I wanted to ask your advice.

Off I go to Bench, now.

    Thanks!

Probably not doing your cut right, but helping you through meet programming on a dietary cut is beyond the scope of this forum. If you want to cut, then do it, but know you are probably going to lose some strength. If not, then increase calories and go compete at 205.

Also, have you been doing DE for volume up until this point or is this new?

I might give you a call, then! Figured that might be more appropriate, but wanted to begin with a post.

This was my first time working with DE stuff - I had not used it for volume previously.
