I burnt my hand picking up a pan (by the handle) that was heated by the stove. I lifted the next day, and it was painful while lifting but otherwise ok.

When i lifted again three days later it was still painful, but was different in that even 24 hours after lifting (today) there was (is) still increased snesitivity to pressure. Also, for the first 24 hours after the second day of lifting, whenever my hand hung by my body, I felt a painful swelling sensation.

So can I still lift? I don't mind a little bit of pain but I don't want any long-term damage.

You can lift if you can lift. Just make sure it doesn't get infected.

You should be fine. Wear a glove if you need to.

Or you could, you know, seek medical attention?

You've got maybe a second-degree burn, worse than a bad sun burn, depending on how hot the pan was and how long you held onto it.

Next time, ice immediately after exposure.

Congratulations, you're one step closer to being a cook.
