Rack Pulls and Halting Deadlifts Programming
Mark,
I am 30 years old, 1.7m tall, and weigh 90kg(10kg heavier since the West Point Seminar last year). I have reached the point of 202.5x5 in training for the deadlift and have, as you've stated in the technique videos, had trouble recovering from deads effecting my other lifts in a negative way. My solution would be to use halting deads and rack pulls. My questions are:
1. Would I treat rack pull warm up pyramid and work set the same as the deadlift (i.e. single work set of 5)?
2. How much weight would I back off for the halting deads, assuming the work set would be a single set of eight?
Also I just competed for the first time about a week ago. Happily, I set personal records in all three lifts. Thanks to you and your staff for the high quality of work that you do and for your time.

1. Same procedure as the deadlift warm-up.
2. It varies, so titrate it up and see.
Nice job at your meet.
