    Rip,

So true. I was trainng with Cody Miller today and mentioned to him that a set of max deadlifts required an almost "meditative" state. Glad ro hear I'm not completely crazy.

    Great article. Thanks.

    GREAT article Rip!

And people call me crazy because I tell them that weight training is my form of meditation.

    Heavy barbell training cures all.

Powerful words, Rip. Thanks. Excited to share this with everybody I can get to sit still long enough to read it.

Timely. I was just considering how I often prep for heavy lifts by sitting and staring at the bar for most of the rest between lifts. Sometimes I'll even rock back and forth some to mechanically engage focus.

And there are other times when I "lose lock", mentally. Almost like I'm falling asleep (could be the late hours). Generally the lifts are not as good then.

Great article. Shared it with all of the athletes who train in my gym. Some a little more focused than others.

I did my formal LP with Street after going to the SSC, and the mental side of training was by far my most important learning and growth experience. It's paid great dividends in my personal and professional endeavors.
