Seems reasonable. Don't know about cardio, just make it light.

I plan on transitioning to a 4 day TM when I finish my NLP.
I've noticed that whenever I've had to squat less than 3 times per week in the past, my squat technique isn't as sharp. I'm wondering if adding a light squat day to "grease the groove" would be useful, when lifting in a 4 day split style? I'm not interested in doing the traditional 3 day TM where there's a light day intentionally programmed due to time constraints.

Does this seem reasonable?
Should I do 2x5 @ 80% of my volume day?
Should cardio be LISS or HISS?
Thanks

This would work, basically you'd be doing your squats on a traditional Texas Method and the other lifts on a 4 day. Just know that training 5 days might hinder your recovery at first.
For the cardio, I'm a fan of HIIT. In fact the Barbell Logic YouTube channel JUST did a great video on that.
Also there was also a recent 2 part article on the SS site that Matt Reynolds did on MED that shows a great transition from NLP to Texas Method to 4 day Texas Method.
This seems very reasonable to me. If you can make it to the gym five days a week, I’d say try it and see how you like it.
