Default Relative strength of healed tendons

I came across the following statement in readings from an anatomy class:

"The remodeling phase of tendon healing may last as long as eighteen months, and even surgically repaired tendons never return to full strength. The final strength of a tendon repair is generally about 2/3 to 3/4 of normal strength."

Does this information comport with the experience of this community with trained/training populations?

Wow--thanks for sharing. If you don't mind me asking, what were the circumstances of your injury, surgery, and rehabilitation?

Consistent with "2/3-strength" being the level your physios could have assumed was the most possible. It sounds like you're saying you got back "full" function, meaning you trained back up to (and through?) previous maximums. So, then, is the 2/3 thing just completely arbitrary?
