Hip pain due to coxa valga and bursitis, can I squat?
Here's what I recently found out I have in my left hip: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coxa_valga. My hip bone is too obtuse. Also, I apparently have bursitis. I was just about to get on Starting Strength, but I don't know if I should now. Has anyone else experienced something like this? If so, what can I do to make this work?

find the video showing how to get in the correct bottom position with only body weight. If you can do that you can squat. Just start with the bar and gradually add weight.
