This is my first post here, but I've looked around and read for quite some time.

I was medically cleared to train 11 months ago. I currently total 1465 (555/365/545) raw classic at 220, and have followed SS, Madcow, and Texas Method (before meet prep) in that order. I recently purchased Practical Programming and the basis of the Pyramid Model peaked my interest. Would this sort of periodization be acceptable for someone with my stats?

Yes, and it's one of the simplest ways to implement advanced level programming. The tricky part for most is not getting your training cycle interrupted by external events

How would you optimize the progression for powerlifting specifically? Start at sets of 10 and taper to singles or doubles at week 8?

Are you looking at the "Classic Powerlifting Taper" in PPST3?
