    Hi, Andy. 37 year old male here. Quick question about starting this programming after a meet. 1RM's take a lot out of me, and even after just a mock meet at the gym, training is pretty much terrible for a week or two. I know you suggest taking Mon/Tues off and jumping in Thursday with volume work. I feel like that might be a shit show for me. Should I just man up and do it, or should I take some sort of deload week? I also worry that if I wait too long, my new 1RM's won't be accurate for calculating percentages.

    I could be overthinking this...

    You probably are. The first little bout of volume dosage is not all that hard. If you need a whole week, take it, and then start the program the following week, but don't try for new 1RMs if you are just coming off a meet. Just work up to a very moderate single on those first few days and then start the workouts later in the week based off your meet PR
