Default Cable rows - grip question

I've been doing these with a narrow grip, and I'm up to 140lbs for 3x5, and I'm at the point where I'm microloading - next increase will probably be 1.25lbs. I'm thinking of switching to a medium-width grip, with whatever deload is required for me to get 3x5 with good form (maybe 15-20lbs) and then work up from there.

    My thinking is:
    1. The medium-width grip will work the back a little differently than the narrow grip.
    2. I'm close to a stall on the narrow grip and will need a deload soon anyway, so might as well change things up a little.

Lyle, thanks, that was an interesting read.

The other major back exercises I'm doing are deadlifts and pronated grip pullups. So for cable rows, from what I gathered from your article, I'd be better off with medium-width neutral grip rows than with narrow neutral grip rows, since the former will put greater emphasis on mid-back, and my lats are already getting plenty of work from the pullups.
