    Story time:

The other day I got my calves/lower leg massaged for 90 excruciating minutes. I'm no longer waking up with stiff/painful heel cords. Happy ending

There's a double negative in here. Was that intentional?

Yeah my bad. The massage seemed to work. Just wanted to give someone an idea if their tendons are being stubborn.

How does one know when their tendons are junky?

Most people who are active for a while get some tendinopathy somewhere.

If you ask Rip he'll tell you to keep training through it which I always found perplexing. Or he'll say something about pin firing horses which makes a whole lot more sense. A very vigorous massage is kind of like the pin firing method.

There's a dude who used to post here who poked needles into his achilles tendons. Think his name was cubbieblue

Thanks for the info Will! I usually get a pretty rough massage every other week just to keep my limping around. I feel that it does help a lot.

Yeah, high volume chins worked well for tendinosis in my elbows, but lately I have dealt with some (I think) plantar fasciitis, first in right heel, now in left heel. Thinking along the lines of pin firing, would high volume calf raises help that? Or just go straight for the massages?

Do you really think you need to weigh 300lbs to DL in the low 400s? I would lose some body weight but hedge your bets and ask your doctor what they think
