Default Lifts for my first two workouts

    A:

    Squat - 75
    Press - 60
    Deadlift - 135

    B:

    Squat - 85
    Bench Press - 80
    Deadlift - 150

Do these lifts seem in proportion or does my deadlift seem too far ahead of the others (and increasing at 15 lbs every workout)? Rippetoe instructs me to deadlift every workout for the first two weeks before introducing the power clean, but that's going to put the deadlift way ahead of the other lifts for me, I hope that's ok?

It's okay. They all have to get stronger. Don't hold any of the lifts back out of concern for the ratio of one lift to another.

I don't have my original log handy, but that's about where I started off in my first run at SS. I think the squat was 95, but whatever, you'll be there and then past it in a couple days. I ran my most recent run of LP to 345 for squats and deadlifts, 135 for press and 205 for bench, all for sets of 5. Just keep adding weight to the bar every session as long as you can. The starting point falls quickly behind.

Oh, and the only reason my squats and deadlifts were the same weight at the end was because of form errors on my part for the deadlift and continued resets when I should have just fixed my form. Most peoples deadlifts are ahead of their squats.

    Cool, Thanks guys.

It still feels a bit strange that my deadlift will be at 210 by the end of next week while my squat will only be at 125 and my bench only at 90, but I'll stick to the program. I just hope I don't stall out from progressing in the deadlift too fast.

If the deadlift stalls, that just means you'll re-set it and everything else will start to catch up. Why would this be a problem?

Tbh I i'm not up on how the resetting/stalling works so I didn't know it allowed for other lifts to catch up. Was gonna wait to read up on that part once one of my lifts actually stalled.

Which reminds me that I need to invest in fractional weights still...

I'm confused. Were you under the impression that you'd re-set your bench press if the deadlift stalled?

Don't think anyone's said this yet, but eventually you will be making 5 lb jumps on DL which means your squat will start catching back up. This is part of the reason why it's nice to give your DL a head start.

(People who are more knowledgeable, please correct me if I'm wrong.)

Beginning of week two, I'm DL'ing 180 lbs. and squatting 105 lbs.

The squat almost feels like it's going to stall already... I'm thinking about maybe posting a form video to see if I'm messing up form.

Why would you have any second thoughts about posting a video? There's not really any downside, and maybe we can help identify some inefficiencies or prevent injuries due to form issues before they happen?
