Looking at buying a used bar I found for a 200 in good shape. I was trying to find out if this bar is dipped in Chrome or whatever. If it is I may spring the extra money for a b and r bar. But it seems like a good deal on a good bar. Thanks for any help!

On paper it looks like a good weightlifting bar, but I would avoid using it for the power lifts. Price seems average for the used market. I haven't used it myself, so I can't say anything about whether it is worth owning, but if you don't like it you should be able to approximately break even if you resell it.

So I think I found that this bar is dipped. The 32004 would be just like the b and r bar. From you guys that have them, is the main tense a lot? Could the bar be stored away in a basement and be ok? I have heard the grip on them is incredible. Thanks again for the advice. And good point on the turn around if I don't like it cody.

This bar isn't like the B&R at all. It's 28mm vs 29mm, which is very different. It also only has Olympic markings instead of dual markings. This York bar is only for the snatch and clean & jerk.

Thanks cody, that's very helpful. I'm more into general strength, I really enjoy the power clean but don't see myself oly lifting without a coach in a facility. Think I'll save my money for a b and r. My weider pro bar is on the fritz and I'm amazed it has held up this long.
