    Default Rip,Would you ever advise a healthy athlete to 1/4 squat?

    I've been speaking to a strength and conditioning coach based over here in the UK and we were talking about a t nation article referring to quarter squats as being trash

    he didn't agree and i asked him when he would advise on doing shallow squats

    The examples he gave was when the movement was specific to the athlete. For example a football player crouched in the quarter squat position adding that whilst full squats would also benefit the player, quarter squats would allow the individual to use more weight without form breaking down.


    what do you think? movement specific or get down in the hole?

    There is one large thread -of many- on the topic from about a month ago.

    Quarter squats are useless, the benefit comes from full squats.

    could somebody link me to the/a thread, i cant find any good ones

    the guy linked me a vid to dave tate who supports 1/2 squats for certain indivduals i.e. sprinters or footballers

    i am most confused
