    Default bf via strength estimation

Kind of a peculiar question, but I was wondering what people thought here---Lots of times we try calculating BF based on waist size, pictures, etc.

I wear waist size 32 pants.

    I am 6'0 180 lbs, 22 year old male.

    I lift:
    Bench--225x5
    Squat--335x1
    Press--150x5
    RDL--235x10

Given my waist info, where would you guestimate by BF%? I ask because if I were to take a picture, it would indicate about 15%--which seems high to me given my strength levels and fairly light waist. But I'm also biased.

Probably about 13-15, yes. Just to give you an example, when I weighed 181 (at 5'10) with a 29.5" waist I squatted 440, benched 335, and deadlifted 550.

What would your bf% have been?

On a more serious note, BF testers throw out all kinds of figures from a bit over 20% to 45% or so, so i gave up checking - where would you put me at (other than on a diet!)?

Well I wasn't very competitive at that weight with those numbers so maybe? Lol. I have no idea what your bodyfat is, but since you asked....probably ~30%

Fuck Me. When I was in 5th grade (1981) I had a 32 inch waist. Probably weighed 150.

My BF% is quite a bit less than women who can lift a great deal more than I, so I don't really see the relation between the two.

Maybe what we should be looking at is a comparison between strength and LBM, instead?
