    • starting strength seminar october 2024
    • starting strength seminar december 2024
    • starting strength seminar february 2025
    So I don't have a squat cage or squat stands atm and I was interested to see what things people have used as substitutes for these. I'm not talking permanent here just temporary things that I could use until I can buy a cage or stands.

    This would also be of interest to me. I am actually about to buy a barbell and use rope and 5 gallon buckets of sand for my plates.

    Not much, I just started. I'll have a squat rack/stands before I'm squatting dangerous weight.

    I've heard of that. I guess I could be doing that now with the low weight I'm squatting but I don't think that technique will last.

    I agree. If it's gonna take more than two weeks it's not gonna be a good idea. You should be lifting at least160 pounds by then if you follow the program. You'll need collars to steinborn the thing too.

    They actually work fairly well. We made a set at work. You just have to be careful in regards to putting the weight back up.
