    Hi coach,

I know in SS you recommend about 30 degrees of toe flare. Any reason why a big duck-toed guy shouldn't flare his toes 45-50 degrees if that's what's comfortable? I feel it lets me drop deeper into the hole, and so far I'm not having trouble to keep my knees out.

This is also addressed in the book. Toe position is designed to maintain good patellar tracking at a given stance width. For most people, feet positioned parallel to the femurs will do this, but if you have foot alignment problems it may be necessary to assume a wider toe position than femur-parallel.
