When I do squats and bench press my face get very red during the exercise. I know some people's face get red too, but I'm talking really really red. I think it may have something to do with my breathing technique, but I think I do what most people here do. I hold my breath and do the rep, then breath.

does anyone else get a really really red face when doing exercise?
am I doing something wrong as far a breathing technique?
    is this bad?

    thanks for your comments

Yeah, that's not normal, and you should stop lifting immediately. Your head just might explode.

I saw spots the other day doing squats, followed by lightheadedness after the set.

I also get several petechia haemorrhages on my face and traps after squats too. I'm still waiting for a nose bleed and/or bloody eye when lifting. One day, one day.

Everyone freaks out a little at my red-exploding squat face, no one is used to seeing that kind of intensity.

To be honest, I feel my current limiting component of my squat is the ability of my face/head to handle this pressure.

Some blood vessels around my eyes burst during my last workout while squatting. I'm still waiting for the black eyes to go away.

OP, if you stop watching your own face in the mirror while you perform the exercises, this problem will magically go away.
