    Default Best belt?

Hello, I'm looking into buying a new belt off of bestbelts.net, I have a 4 inch belt from there, but I heard rip say somewhere that a 3 inch belt should be used instead of a 4 inch belt, I also looked on their site and saw there was a 2.5 inch belt. Should I keep my 4 inch belt or buy one of the other two? And does anyone have any experience with the 3 or 2.5 inch belt and know what the pros and cons are? Thanks, I'm just a little confused about what belt I should be using, I'm also higher in body fat percentage if that helps.

I believe he says a 3" belt may be appropriate for deadlifts.
He also has an article titled "The belt and the deadlift".

    I think.

    How tall are you?

    At 6', I found the 2.5" & 3" pretty useless for everything.

I sometimes used a tapered belt (gasp) 3" in front; 4" in back for pulls that required really deep hip flexion (snatch grip deadlift), but I sold it and use 4" for everything

At 5'6 and a half, and slightly short-torsoed, I can't even get set up correctly for a deadlift in a 3" belt. I wear a 4" for squat and press, and the 2.5" for pulls and bench. I wish I could use the 4" for pulls, because it's annoying to have to keep 2 around, or take them to workouts or meets.

Here's the article about using a narrower belt for the deadlift that my caprine friend alluded to:

I'm 6'. My 4" works ok for squats and presses, it can be a bitch for pulls though.

If anything, go with the 3".

Similar to Shug, I was baffled by the 2.5"

On them shorter folk like my wife and Skillin, a 2.5 inch looks and works perfectly normal. On a full-grown man over 6 foot, not so much.

I'm short folk (5'5) and have a 2.5" belt from best belts. I don't find that it helps for deadlifts, and not sure if it's helpful for benching either. Considering selling it.
