Would high pulls be an acceptable substitution for the power clean. I cant seem to get my form right on the power clean even when using light weight and catching the clean seems to trouble my wrists

Sure. But I never use them so I can't give you a lot of tips on programming

I do high pulls because cleans hurt my wrists. Since there's no real rack position they're hard to program. I just do them as an accessory lift and add weight until they become low pulls/shrugs.

I suppose i'll just try them out 5x3 like is recommended with powercleans. Thank you for the reply

A lot of Highland Games athletes prefer high pulls over power cleans--maybe try googling some of them for programming ideas?

And a bit of text forom Jim Schmitz on it: http://www.ironmind.com/ironmind/ope...ommy_Kono.html

With that you can be consistent with the height of the pull and program them accordingly.
