Lateral stretch reflex on press 1.0?
Rip,
I was experimenting with initiation of press 1.0. I think I might have identified a benefit to bringing the elbows in quickly and slightly as I push the bar off my deltoids. It seems to add tension to the triangle of the arms supporting the bar at the start of the press.
Figment of my imagination?

Lat/tricep/armpit tightness is certainly an advantage out of the bottom. If you can learn to apply this to the Olympic press we teach at the seminar, you'll really see why we teach it this way.
