    Ive been having trouble progressing with my bench and overhead press so I figured chinups/pullups will help me with those exercises. However, I can't do a single chinup/pullup.

    Should I be patient and wait til my bench and overhead press get higher? Or should I hit the assisted pullup machine and how frequent should I do them?

    5 weeks on SS:
    bench: 45 -> 100
    press: 45 -> 60

    They aren't totally necessary. I actually like lat pulldowns better than assisted pull ups. They are easier to linearly progress. Do some chin grip lat pulls for about 3 sets of 8. Strict form.
