split routine - once weekly squatting

hope dove season is going well.
Short and sweet --
I'm switching to this split routine:
mon - intensity bench, volume press
tues - intensity squat (heavy set of 5, 3, or singles) or intensity squat + volume back off
thurs - intensity press, volume bench
fri - intensity deadlift and assistance
I have been squatting high volume for years and would like to try out a once weekly plan due to some issues with hip bursitis. I would prefer to use as little volume as possible to drive my squat.
Should I add in volume work as a back-off on tuesdays, or will intensity squatting on tuesday alone be sufficient to make progress?

Just the intensity squats on Tuesday will probably work for a while since you are coming down off a high volume program. After several weeks/months you may find that adding in like 2-3x5 as back off work or adding in some medium weight squats on Friday becomes more productive.
