Which phase should I be in?
I've recently moved from following the Stronglifts program to Starting Strength. My current stats are as follows:
Age: 40
Height: 6"2'
Squat: 85kg (187lbs)
Deadlift 105kg (231lbs)
Bench Press: 73.5kg (162lbs)
Press: 47.5kg (195lbs)
Should I be in Phase I or phase II?
Also the book says that you should move from phase II to phase III when recovery from the deadlifts becomes a problem. Given that we are discouraged from relying on our feelings at this stage how do you know when to move on?

I cannot answer this withe the information provided. Everyone is different in this regard. Your deadlift is fairly far ahead of your squat. If you can make progress with reduced frequency, that is fine. I can say that 47.5 kg is not 195 lbs, however. What is your body weight?
