The comments are a precious collection of valuable thought. A few good points liberally interspersed with people who cannot read but somehow manage to write.
"History tells us what works in the gym, and everything else walks down the road with a carrot in its ass." I snorted Bacardi Gold and Diet Sprite out of my nose. Thanks for making me waste some of my hooch.
My personal favorite from the comments:
"The powerlifting style low bar squat is not necessarily meant for building strength, but for moving as much weight as possible in competition."
This individual seems to not understand the relationship between the weight on the barbell and strength.
Great article as usual. The picture selection is unfortunate, as always.
I showed the article to a friend of mine who is really into Crossfit and goes to the gym to do random, high rep, flashy stuff (like 150 reps of thrusters or 150 burpees). His reply was "but look at how big these guys in the pictures are! I don't want to get that big!". He didn't even bother to read it.
/sigh
My favorite comment:
"...there are some things i yet don 't understand (i am european..) but it's awesome."
Does this indicate a language barrier or are Europeans especially dense concerning strength training?
I refrained from commenting on this in Ends and Pieces since I no longer acknowledge the existence of the OP there.
The best deconstruction of not only crossfit, but also CRC (Chronic Routine Changing), and instinctive training I have seen to date. One might even say that Weider made a fortune from CRC.
